Skinner Street, Leeds Ridgeback
Mosodi supported the successful planning application for a landmark 31-storey residential tower on Skinner Street in Leeds city centre, working alongside Ridgeback and the wider project team. The development will deliver 399 high-quality apartments on a prominent gateway site into the city. Designed to transform a long-vacant plot, the scheme will make a significant contribution to Leeds’ housing supply and city centre regeneration efforts. Our role focused on delivering the Transport Statement and Travel Plan to support the application and demonstrate the scheme’s sustainability and accessibility.
Background
Mosodi was appointed by Ridgeback in 2022 to provide transport planning input for this strategically located site. Positioned on a key route into Leeds city centre, the project required careful consideration of connectivity, sustainable travel options, and wider integration into the city’s transport network. We worked closely with the wider team, advising on the transport strategy, liaising with key stakeholders, and preparing the Transport Statement and Travel Plan in support of the planning submission. Our work helped ensure the scheme aligned with local and national transport policies.
Outcomes
Planning permission was granted for the 31-storey tower, unlocking a prominent city centre site to deliver 399 new homes. Construction commenced in 2023, with Mosodi’s early input playing a key role in demonstrating the development’s sustainable credentials and its ability to support active and public transport use. The project represents a high-quality, high-density solution to city centre living and forms a key part of Leeds’ regeneration and housing strategy. We’re proud to have contributed to bringing this ambitious scheme forward.
