Mosodi supported the delivery of the Thoresby Vale development with a comprehensive package of transport planning services. Our work included a Transport Statement, School Parking Management Plan, School Travel Plan, Residential Travel Plan, and ongoing Travel Plan Coordination. This ensured the development met planning requirements while supporting safe, sustainable travel for both residents and the future school community.
Background
Thoresby Vale is a major mixed-use regeneration scheme on the site of a former colliery, involving new homes, a school, and community infrastructure. The complexity and scale of the site required a joined-up transport strategy that addressed construction logistics, long-term access, and day-to-day travel behaviour. Mosodi was brought in to provide technical expertise across both the residential and educational elements of the development, ensuring compliance and long-term functionality.
Outcomes
Our integrated approach helped secure planning approvals by demonstrating that travel to and from the site could be managed effectively and sustainably. The School Parking Management and Travel Plans prioritised pupil safety and promoted active travel, while the Residential Travel Plan and coordination activities encouraged sustainable transport use from the outset.
